This four-part video series takes an in-depth look at automotive interior recoloring products, application, and durability. We compare a commonly available aerosol interior coating with the professional coloring system we use in our restoration work, from technical information and application through hands-on durability testing.

Part 1: Introduces the series and reviews the technical data and application requirements for the aerosol coating.

Part 2: Covers application of both systems, including custom color matching and differences in the application process.

​

Part 3: Puts freshly finished samples through mechanical and chemical durability testing, including scratching, abrasion, isopropyl alcohol, denatured alcohol, acetone, and increasingly aggressive physical abuse.

Part 4: Goes through the results and observations from the testing and provides a direct comparison of how the two systems performed.

This series isn't intended as an application tutorial or simply to label one product as "good" or "bad." The goal is to demonstrate through side-by-side testing why the materials and processes used for professional interior restoration matter, some of the differences that may not be apparent simply by looking at a freshly finished part, and, more importantly, the level of quality we strive for in our shop.
