Optional shipping assistance for customer-supplied parts using established carrier relationships and in-house handling.

What this service is

When customers send parts to OBS Interiors for service, we can provide optional shipping services upon request. This allows customers to purchase shipping through us rather than arranging shipment independently.

This service is intended to simplify the shipping process and, when possible, provide access to shipping rates that are often lower than standard retail pricing most commonly encountered by consumers.

Shipping services are offered as a convenience and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on shipment size, destination, and carrier availability.

How shipping through us works

If a customer chooses to purchase shipping through OBS Interiors, we will provide a shipping quote based on the specifics of the shipment and the carrier services used. Shipping costs reflect carrier charges along with the handling, packaging requirements, and administrative work involved in processing the shipment.

Our primary shipping carrier for most parcel-based shipments is UPS. We also maintain a local freight account for larger or palletized shipments.

Shipping quotes are provided upfront so customers understand expected costs before shipment.

Shipping cost expectations

Shipping costs across all carriers have increased significantly over time due to inflation, fuel surcharges, dimensional pricing, and carrier policy changes. While we make every effort to offer reasonable shipping options, shipping through us does not imply that shipping will be inexpensive.

Most consumers encounter shipping prices that reflect standard retail rates published by carriers or used by shipping franchise locations. In many cases, shipping arranged through OBS Interiors DBA Carr Designs is priced below those commonly seen retail rates, while still reflecting the real costs associated with carrier services and in-house handling.

Our goal is not to compete with shipping franchise locations offering promotional or discretionary pricing, nor to operate as a shipping broker. Instead, our intent is to provide reliable shipping through a major carrier at pricing that is often more favorable than standard retail options, while supporting the work being performed on your parts.

 

Freight shipping clarification

For larger shipments, we maintain a local freight account and can receive inbound freight shipments from customers. However, we are unable to arrange inbound freight logistics on a customer’s behalf or extend commercial freight pricing for incoming shipments in the same way we can with our parcel shipping services.

Freight shipments involve additional coordination and must be discussed in advance.

What this service is not

This service is not a shipping brokerage, discount shipping program, or logistics coordination service. We do not price-match shipping franchise locations, negotiate third-party reseller rates, or guarantee the lowest available shipping cost.

Shipping services are offered solely as an optional convenience in support of restoration and fabrication work performed by OBS Interiors.

Shipping responsibility and preparation

Customers are responsible for proper packaging of parts being shipped to us unless otherwise agreed upon. We strongly recommend appropriate packaging, padding, and protection to reduce the risk of transit damage.

OBS Interiors is not responsible for carrier handling, transit delays, or damage that occurs before a shipment is received or after it leaves our facility.
